*FAQs*

“How long will my session take?”

I enjoy having relaxed, playful sessions that will produce natural expressions and heartfelt portraits. Please schedule your session with the idea that it may take 1-2 hours or more. There are no set time limits and we will take as many breaks as needed so feel free to bring juice and snacks. Newborn sessions typically last 2-3 hours or longer.

“Where will my session take place?”

I normally shoot on-location which means at your house or favorite park. This allows everyone to feel relaxed and comfortable and gives us a chance to play! If you need suggestions on where to have your session, I would be happy provide some ideas.

“What should we wear?”

Keep it simple, you want the images to be about the person and not the clothes. Solid colors photograph best, so you want to try and avoid loud patterns, logos and graphics that may distract from your child’s face. Feel free to make as many outfit changes as your child will allow, there will be plenty of time for multiple clothing changes. We can make decisions on which outfits would be best for your session at that time. If you do need clothing suggestions please ask when you schedule your session and I will be happy to discuss ideas that will suite the style of portrait you are looking for.

“When should I book my maternity and/or newborn session?”

Maternity sessions are best done within a month or two of your due date so we can show off that gorgeous belly! The sweetest and most precious newborn photos are of curling, sleeping newborns. During the first two weeks after your baby’s birth, they will usually retain some of the natural curl from before they were born. Newly born babies are also usually more sleepy and pliable for the most desired poses. For these reasons, please call to book your newborn session as early as possible. Of course, those can be hard to schedule ahead of time but if you’re expecting and know you’d like a shoot, contact me now and I’ll make sure there’s time in the schedule when your little one is born.
