This past weekend I had my first Operation: Love ReUnited photo session. This little premie was born at 33 weeks but he is a very healthy and strong little guy! His father is deployed until next summer so his mother was desperate for photos to send to the proud Papa overseas. I was more then happy to drive the hour and a half to help them out with that! Little Devante took a little convincing to get to sleep, but once he was out he was the perfect little model. I hope you enjoyed the session as much as I did!

A few weeks ago my sister invited my family to visit Florida with her and her family. Her twins are now 6 months old and I immediately had visions on a sunset photo session on the beach. Turns out I had forgotten the innate curiosity hardwired into all 6 month olds… we put the boys in the sand and all they wanted to do was look at it, touch it, play with it, and eat it! Getting them both to look at me at the same time was next to impossible. While the images in my head never happened, I am thrilled with the photos I did get. These guys sure have grown since they were itty bitty 5 pound newborns back in March, huh?

It was actually several weeks ago that I was accepted as a Network Photographer with the Think Pink Photography organization, but I wanted to hold off on sharing this news until today since October marks the beginning of Breast Cancer Awareness month. I figured there would be no better time than today to get the word out. I am very proud and excited to be a participating photographer with this charity.

Think Pink Photo Sessions are available for any individual that has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer or completed treatment within the past 12 months. The goal of these sessions is to document the fight before or during treatment or to celebrate the victory when treatment is completed. Any person who qualifies for a Think Pink Session will receive the following items:

One complimentary portrait session

Ten 5×7 prints from your Think Pink Session

10% discount on any additional prints ordered

And, of course, what is a blog post without photos???

I know there is a lot to be said about the quality of these photos, but in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I wanted to share them with you today.

Several years ago, my mother-in-law’s best friend passed away after a long battle with Breast Cancer. My husband and I were so moved by her fight we wanted to do something to help. So in the summer of 2005, we spent 2 months training and raising money in support of the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure. That fall, we successful completed our first 5K in New York City. It was a proud and humbling experience for us. One we will never forget.
